Remember My Name: The FAME reunion last January 20 was hilarious. Apart from reminiscing, outing still-in-the-closet castmembers, and belting Total Eclipse of the Heart at Red Box, Robi captured it all by reminding us that even if Fame was THE WORST production in the world, we'll always be lucky because of the friendships that we kindle to this day. :)

a couple of firsts and a second
Whew. This week, I must say, has been a little exhausting.. I've been quite the social butterfly as of late and been doing a couple of odd (at least not-so-ordinary) things in between.
Like guesting on Franco's radio show, Bitch. The topic? Plastic surgery of course. It went fine, although it was a bit TOO cold. I swear, you probably could've heard me shivering behind the microphone. :P Then there was the whole "Li-thal Weapon" slip. Ugh. All in all, it was alright. Even fun, I might say.
Then there was the Flipper at EuroStar. Omigosh that was painful. I mean, for the first time I wasn't afraid. I was braver than I could've imagined. I NEVER ride rides. I even opened my eyes! I'll be posting pictures in a bit.
Oh, and my second? I have a new nephew. His name is David.

the listing continues..
I know I said I wanted to come up with a list of "guilty pleasures" but seeing as today seems slightly overcast (or perhaps I'm holed up in my corner a little too long), I'd rather dwell on Rainy Day Music.
From experience, rainy days are bliss when curled up in bed with the airconditioning on and you're all snuggled up under the covers. Special someone snuggling right next you is optional. There's really nothing better than lying in bed, listening to your favorite music. So here's my idea of rainy day music:
Afterglow (album) - Sarah Mclachlan
Waking Hour (album) - Vienna Teng
The Friend I Once Had (album)- Club 8
Rainbow Connection - Peter Cincotti
Singing In The Rain - Jamie Cullum
The Luckiest - Ben Folds
Northern Sky - Nick Drake
Pretty much anything by Sigur Ros
Raindrop - The Reindeer Section
The Boy With The Arab Strap (album) - Belle & Sebastian (throw in I Don't Love Anyone for good measure)
Home Movies (album) - Everything But The Girl
Ella Fitzgerald singing Gershwin
The De-Lovely Soundtrack
Anything Elliott Smith-esque (Sufjan Stevens included)
Poses (album) - Rufus Wainwright
Bedtime With The Beatles (album) - Jason Falkner
Astrud. Astrud. Astrud.
I know my taste in music sometimes baffles people. I mean, I like everything from opera to alternative. I suppose that could be a little weird. Oh, well. I still feel like curling up in bed. Yawn..

new year, old friends
Last night's "couples" dinner at Uva. It seems perfect to open the New Year with such great company and to-die-for food. I mean, Chocnut ice cream is one thing but those tilapia fillets.. I died. It was so darn good I couldn't believe it was just tilapia.
Anyway, last night turned out to be a reunion of sorts because the mares (that's me, Nica, Allotte and Binky) barely see each other due to our hectic schedules. Hmmm. Let me rephrase that. Binky, Nica and I see each other regularly but (if few and far between) Allotte's a little more difficult to be with as she has to work when the rest of us are free. Alls is a singer, you see, and Nica is a theater actress (tama ba, mare?), while Binks is a med student. Since I work a lot, it's natural that our schedules conflict.
Scheduling aside, last night was so much fun because we didn't have an excuse NOT to be there. Allotte has recently returned from Japan (Miss P. Okinawa bwahahaha) and so has dear Reg. It was fun to laugh and just be with each other, and I ended up laughing so hard my mascara ran. The raccoon eyes were worth it though, if just for the company.
